The historical Lapa Palace in Lisbon

The historical Lapa Palace in Lisbon

February 2010 - The five-star hotel Lapa Palace in Lisbon is one of the most renowned hotels of the Olissippo Group. Shortly after the change of management just six months ago, the executive board agreed it is also time for a change of technology. Thus, the hotel management software used until now, will be replaced in all four hotels of the Olissippo group by the end of the year. The property management system will be implemented by the protel partner HITS.

It´s just over six months since the exclusive Lapa Palace was acquired by the Portuguese Olissippo Hotel Group. The five-star Lapa Palace hotel as well as the three- and four-star hotels, the Olissippo Marquês de Sá, the Olissippo Oriente and the Olissippo Castelo are all situated within the most elegant and attractive areas of Lisbon. The hotel management system MF Opera which the Lapa Palace had been working with up until the acquisition by the Olissippo Group came under close scrutiny. Shortly after, the management not only decided to replace the system in the Lapa Palace but to implement the hotel management software protel MPE from Dortmund´s protel hotelsoftware GmbH in all Olissippo Hotels. protel´s Portuguese partner HITS is responsible for the successful and sound implementation of the Property Management System for hotel chains in all Olissippo Hotels by the end of the year.

The youngest member of the hotel chain, Lapa Palace, really lives up to its name: The palace was built in the late 19th century by a Portuguese aristocratic family and became a hotel in 1998. Today the Lapa Palace is an urban oasis with subtropical gardens situated in the capital´s city centre. Perched on the most prestigious of Lisbon´s seven hills the Lapa Palace offers a stunning view of the gardens and the Tagus River. The 109 luxurious rooms and suites of the Lapa Palace are designed for all tastes from Art deco, Colonial and Algarvian to Neo-Classic styles.
