May 2010 - As the only hotel in Austria, Sporthotel Stock in the Tyrolean town of Finkenberg was awarded the quality label "excellent" by the German Wellness Association. Up until now only thirteen hotels and resorts in Europe have received this renowned distinction. The protel customer in the picturesque Zillertal fulfilled all quality standards and has now earned this certification for the forth time.

Once again, being awarded this protected quality seal acknowledges and underlines the superior standard of the four-star hotel. The multi-award winning Sporthotel Stock is known to be one of the leading wellness hotels in Austria. Nestled in the beautiful and mountainous Zillertal Valley, the hotel is family-run since 1983. Founded in 1990, the German Wellness Association (DWV) is the first European wellness organisation. The DWV is a non-profit membership organisation and is highly recognized for its independence from commercial interests, for its competence and neutrality. Since 2002 the DWV appoints independent experts to evaluate hotels, resorts and SPA facilities. Only those wellness providers that meet the minimum number of the DWV quality criteria - depending on the business and evaluation 600 to 1,500 - will be awarded the DWV quality seal of approval. To be rated ?excellent?, wellness providers have to achieve more than 90% of the attainable criteria points.
